The Kindle app stores AZW files, but only downloads them for Amazon-purchased content that you have opened in the Kindle app on that computer. The AZW files are saved in /Documents/My Kindle Content. Their names are random-looking (like B0043M4ZH0EBOK), so it takes a little work to figure out which file corresponds to which book. MacOS Kindle version 1.12.0 no longer seems to keep downloaded books in the My Kindle Library location, no new files are showing up there. Does anyone know where they are being stored now? Without these files to find and remove the DRM for use on other non-kindle readers I'll probably just go back to finding my books on DRM free sites 8. As good as the e-ink experience is on a Kindle, Apple Books provides a first-class experience from beginning to end. Purchasing books is easy, thanks to in-app purchases. It’s nicely integrated.
